Balfour Beatty: AGM Film
A film Cumi built for Balfour Beatty's AGM out of a bunch of low-resolution footage, some clips no longer than 2-3 seconds, and a couple of stills, using a floating-panels approach to display the images with captions on screen throughout — a successful collaboration with Radley Yeldar.
The Brief
When all Cumi had to work with were a bunch of low resolution footage clips, some no longer than 2-3 seconds, and a couple of stills, the task was to create as good a film as possible out of them. From the beginning, Radley Yeldar (RY) wanted to use a floating panels approach to display the images, which helped a lot with the limited material available. Captions also needed to be on screen throughout the piece. In a day, editors roughed out the footage onto a timeline, then delivered all the clips to Cumi, who began building the animation in After Effects.
What Cumi Created
Cumi was extremely happy with the end result, and felt there was more to be explored with this approach in the future. Screened at the Balfour Beatty AGM meeting, the film was a successful collaboration with Radley Yeldar.
