BBC: Digital Posters
In the lead-up to Mipcom, Cumi animated a series of 20 digital posters for the BBC's latest programmes, including Doctor Who, Human Planet, Frozen Planet, SILK, Zen, Sadie J and Wonders of the Universe. Existing poster artwork was modified, visual effects applied, and elements re-animated to match each programme's own branding, using After Effects and some traditional animation techniques — with just 4 hours to complete each poster. The finished animated posters were displayed on multiple screens at the BBC's Mipcom exhibition booth.
The Brief
In the lead up to Mipcom, Cumi was asked to animate a series of 20 posters for the BBC's latest programmes, to be shown on screens at the BBC's own Mipcom exhibition booth. Each poster needed to keep faith with its programme's existing artwork and branding while bringing it to life on screen, all under a tight 4-hour turnaround per poster.
What Cumi Created
Cumi modified each programme's existing poster artwork, applied visual effects, and re-animated elements to align with that programme's own branding, using After Effects and some traditional animation techniques. Programmes covered included Doctor Who, Human Planet, Frozen Planet, SILK, Zen, Sadie J and Wonders of the Universe, among others, with each individual poster completed in around 4 hours.
