A 30-second illustrated short made for a Hyde Park festival campaign, voiced by Joanna Lumley, telling the story of two neighbours, Freddy Footprint and Harry Handprint, to spark interest in ecosystem restoration.

The Brief

Working with writer/director Luke Bradford (Frogspawn Creatives) and the Restore the Earth team, Cumi was asked to produce a short advert to play at a music festival in Hyde Park: a way to spark interest in the charity's ecosystem-restoration campaign among a festival audience rather than a typical broadcast one.

What Cumi Created

The film tells the story of two neighbours, Freddy Footprint and Harry Handprint, voiced by Joanna Lumley: a gentle, illustrated way into a message about restoring the planet's great ecosystems: forests, oceans, freshwater, tundra, corals and soils.

Process & Approach

The campaign's own message stayed close to the surface throughout: governments and companies need to act, but the film's tone doesn't wait for them; it asks what one person can do, on the idea that enough individual action adds up to a real grassroots movement. "Will you do something to leave a positive mark on the world?"

The Film

Hands up for the Earth.
