Tearfund: This Is the Story
A hand-drawn, chalkboard-style animation created for Tearfund, following a single story from hardship to a thriving community, closing on the charity's own mark.
The Brief
No written brief survives alongside this film, so what follows is drawn only from what the animation itself shows: a story told in white and coloured chalk on a blackboard, opening on the words "This is the story" and closing on Tearfund's own logo.
What Cumi Created
Cumi's chalkboard-style sequence moves from a bare line drawing of the world wrapped in leaves, through a figure sitting alone in a shaft of light, to a crowd of people walking forward together, before resolving into a full-colour village scene: a school, a clinic, wind turbines, a family, goats, and children playing football under a smiling sun.
